NMS recognizes the value of employing motivated, trained, competent and responsible crew in compliance with the STCW ‘95 convention as amended, ISM Code and company specific requirements, keeping in mind the IMO Conventions, Flag State laws, MLC 2006, ISO Standards and OCIMF requirements including the TMSA.
Our employees are put through rigid selection procedures and screening, before the consideration of their employment, to ensure they possess the knowledge, skill and attitude required to meet our organizations objectives. This results in the effectiveness of required skills, specific to the type of vessel.
CERTIFICATION CONTROL
NMS assesses the quality of certificate of competency against the appropriate standards set in the STCW Code and, where appropriate, take additional steps to determine the competence of ship personnel and the accuracy of their pre-employment records.
We adhere to company specifications and Flag State Administration requirements by scrutiny of crewmembers certification.
MEDICAL EVALUATION
With NMS it is imperative, that all crewmembers employed, are medically certified, as per flag state requirements in accordance with the ILO standards. Our appointed medical centres across India are approved by the Indian Administration and periodically audited by our company.
Seafarer's accidents/sickness claims are treated with great sensitivity and efficiency through smooth co-ordination with local P&I representatives.
SEAFARERS PSYCOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT
NMS organizes various private and group discussions with company appointed Counselors that are committed and dedicated towards analyzing the perception of seafarers with regards to their job profile by helping them overcome difficulties that may arise from job pressures.
The Counselors available to each employee are on call, 24 hours a day, to render professional help whenever required. Confidentiality of each psychological assessment is strictly maintained and respected.
CREW SAFETY SUPPLIES
To achieve an uncompromised level of safety and productivity, NMS offers a wide range of Personnel Protective Equipment to Seafarers and maintains a very high standard in quality. We are flexible towards customizing all Personnel Protective Equipment to meet our client’s requirements.
TRAVEL SOLUTIONS
We make round-the-clock travel arrangements for all our seafarers. This includes hotel accommodation and transfers, domestic and international air tickets, visas and other immigration formalities.
ARRANGEMENT OF PAYSLIPS AND ALLOTMENTS
We carry out Portage bill scrutiny to meet with our client requirements, payroll calculation, contribution fulfillment and allotment to local reputable banks.
CREW PERFORMANCE MONITORING
As part of our service, the performance of each crewmember is monitored by means of an online appraisal system that sets a criterion for promotions and requirement for succession planning.
We ascertain that follow up training requirements are identified and recorded prior to re-employment. Fleet statistics, analysis and training reports as per TMSA requirements are regularly monitored.
PROVISION SUPPLY AND VICTULING ON BOARD
To promote operational effectiveness, NMS has an affiliation with local and international provision suppliers and emphasizes on excellent quality of the provisions supplied.
